Gran Canaria

In 2020, more than 20,000 people have braved the Atlantic route from Africa to Europe, with more than 8,000 arriving in the Canaries in November 2020 alone. At least 500 people have died in their attempt to reach the islands. The Spanish government has moved about 6,000 migrants from tents at the port of Arguineguín to 17 hotels that have been shuttered by the pandemic.

I'm a freelance photographer based in Berlin, Germany. I worked as a book editor and picture editor for ZENITH and as a staff photographer for STERN Magazine. Since 2014 I work as as a freelance photographer for different magazines and organizations. My working regions are mostly Europe and the Middle East. I speak fluent Arabic, English and German.
