The Arab Spring 2011-2013 | Egypt

The mass demonstrations across Tunisia and Egypt in early 2011 had a major impact on the political landscape in the Middle East. They were fueled by the hope for more freedom and social justice. Between 2011 and 2013 Egypt saw more freedom of expression and an a political active civil society. The election of its first civil president Mohamed Mursi supported the hope for lasting change.

I'm a freelance photographer based in Berlin, Germany. I worked as a book editor and picture editor for ZENITH and as a staff photographer for STERN Magazine. Since 2014 I work as as a freelance photographer for different magazines and organizations. My working regions are mostly Europe and the Middle East. I speak fluent Arabic, English and German.
